>Get approved for credit card
>Spend it on nothing but Vidya

I've got $2500 left before i'm maxxed out. What are some vidya related things I can spend it on?
>>
>>315612007
Kyouko isn't a loli
>>
how do credit cards actually work?
i've only used debit.
>>
>>315612007
How about you not get into debt and build a good credit score so you can get a loan when you actually need one you lum laisin gobbling faggot.
>>
>>315612123
I haven't watched moe in a while

>>315612141
You have a limit of how much you can spend. If you go over the limit you get fees. You have to pay all the money back before the next year. If you dont you owe 30% more. That's how they make money. Stupid people don't pay it back.

>>315612221
I'm gonna pay it all back as soon as I hit limit. I have alot of savings but no credit score.
>>
Wait for the black friday/cyber monday sales. You should be able to get a console bundle for a good price.

Also, make sure to pay off the balance immediately. You'll get raped up the ass if you don't.
>>
>>315612307
This is a good point. I need to get a ps4 for when P5 comes out...
>>
>>315612302
In that case, get PayPal, connect it to your CC, and buy retro stuff you've always wanted off eBay. Retro games are entering a scarcity crisis soon so get em while you can.

If you're not into that, build a PC. It's a good experience even if you will just use it to play farmville and browse /v/
>>
The fuck could you spend $2500 on?
Unless you're talking about hardware too.
>>
>>315612141
Debit card = Takes out guaranteed money from a bank
Credit card = Imaginary money with absolutely no confirmation of getting money back. Credit card companies rape you in fees and percentages as a way of making up for other peoples scams.

>>315612302
>I'm gonna pay it all back as soon as I hit limit. I have alot of savings but no credit score.
That's not how it works, at all. You could have a billion dollars total on one bill, but paying off one bill does squat for your credit rating. A guy that pays $50 a month for five years will decimate your score.
>>
>>315612302
can i just buy like $1 food form McDonalds and then pay back instantly for good credit?
is it that easy?
>>
>>315612550
>Retro games are entering a scarcity crisis soon
There are still tons of games out there, in your neighborhood. You just need to contact the people with them in their closets.

yes. a lot of people are just so terrible at handling money/think the rules don't apply to them and end up in huge debt by being retards

>>315612550
I'm not into that. And I already have a maxxed out pc. Thats what the first purchase was, some replacement parts.

In that case I'll pay it back slowly

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_CARD_Act_of_2009

Credit card companies were so out of control with hidden/stacking fees and percentages that the government had to step in. That dollar would have shown up on your bill as $1.76
>>
>>315612968
>That dollar would have shown up on your bill as $1.76
ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING I'm glad the government stepped in.

Are there actually any consequences for your actions in starless? I've saved and then chosen both actions in a scenario, but they all seem to end up having the same dialogue.

Credit rating is built on stability. If you can prove that you are able to consistently make payments, then you are more appealing to lenders.
>>
>>315614163
That doesn't work in real life. Even if it did, I wouldn't marry a trap because they can't have kids.
>>
>>315614425
Most people these days don't want kids.
>>
>>315614423
So then wouldn't consistent payments be good?

Also, why the fuck isn't the money just automatically deducted.
>>
>>315614689
Because that's what debit cards are for :^^^^^^^)
>>
>>315612007
Fuck credit cards.
If you can't afford something, then don't buy it.

I can't be dealing with those parasites.
>>
>>315615425
but won't credit help me buy a home when i'm ready to settle down?
>>
>>315615524
Yes. It'll also help you start a business and generally live your life.
>>
>>315615524
>>315615425
The only way we wouldn't need credit is if we lived in a world where everyone was payed far above the poverty line even for things like fast food and even then there would still be some people who needed credit cards for things like starting businesses etc.
>>
>>315615524
Anon. I have come to accept that by the time I get to that age, the price of property would have ascended beyond that of which I could ever remotely afford.
And I'll probably never get into a career that pays well enough to even consider it. (Due to being remarkably mediocre)
Not that I will probably settle down anyway. Because that requires developing a mutual bond I have no real ability to form.
(And I'm sure I'm not the only one here like that)

But yeah, you could probably do that if you want.
>>
> don't have any credit history
> go to bank to get a home lone
> get approved because of my savings history with bank
> meanwhile friends going into debt from credit cards trying to create some sort of credit history

Are people retarded
>>
>>315616094
Hmm. I didn't know that was a thing.
>>
>>315616094
I don't have credit cards, but through hard work I've managed to claw my way out of my bank overdraft mostly this past year or so. (Several years of university eat away at your savings. The maintenance loans never truly cover your expenses at all. I started Uni with £1000 in the bank. I ended up with -£2000 by the time I graduated, now I'm about +£200 at the start of a month when I get paid so in approximately 3 months or so I'll be in proper savings.)
Once I get some comfortable savings in my account, I'll be confident enough to seek out better employment while still just earning under the amount to pay back the Student Finance via part-time work.
Once i finally get my shot I'll be in a comfy situation at home with my parents giving them a few hundred quid a month while everyone else renting is having their money drained constantly by living 'life'. And/Or paying for wife and children/substance addiction.

Now if only it was so easy to get out of the 'wageslav' bracket.

Holy shit, I can hardly believe that some of you don't understand how credit works. It's an extremely simple thing to understand.
>>
>>315616317
I had huge amount of money beforehand from loving at home saving approx 80% of my wage
It was a local bank chain not a massive national one
I did sorta go for a pre approved loan at first then a house come on the market that I had to get it

What will matter to your bank is, do you have stable employment. they won't care if you payed off an $200 loan. It's your job that's going to pay the money that's owed not previous transactions
>>
>>315616915
I understand how credit works.
I just don't like the system since it exploits the poor and the only way they can escape is to nearly ruin themselves.
>>
>>315617176
It exploits the stupid. The poor are poor for a reason and I have no sympathy for anyone older than 30 who's still financially inept.
>>
>>315612302

That's not how credit building works. Credit card companies want two things from you; 1 Proof that you can handle money responsibly, and 2) you using the card and accruing interest.

Instantly paying off your bill doesn't make them money. They want people who are reckless enough to spend more they can pay back instantly, but not so reckless they aren't able to pay it back it all.

I was a retarded teenager 10 years ago and built-up a credit card debt. It wasn't a stupidly large amount that had me declaring bankruptcy or having you use those debt consolidation services or anything, but it was big enough to take several years to pay off.

The upside of that is I now have credit card companies hand over fist trying to give me cash. I have 3 credit cards, all of them have at least a £6000 credit limit. They regularly send me offers giving me low APR (0-12%) for the first year on cash withdrawals and balance transfers
>>
If you have savings, why not use those to buy the vidya?

I find credit cards useless.

I know when they are useful but I've never been in a situation where I would need money that I don't already have.
>>
>>315619230

>>
>>315614486

/pol/ is that way go there and stay there. Last time you /pol/ shitters did anything GG was invented.

Now fuck off.
>>
>have credit card for seven years
>credit limit still $500
I don't really need more than that but still. It's probably because I always pay it off.
>>
>>315620715

>not realizing it was /v/irgins who migrated over

nobody gives a shit about that on /pol/. it's just neo /v/ cross boarders shitting up everything like they always do.
>>
>>315620227
I've been living on my own for 3 years. Tell me a good reason why you would use credit card over your savings.
>>
>>315620832
Get another one you dumbo. Your new card should multiply your total credit limit.
>>
>>315612007
I hope you've been paying it off as you use it OP.

>>
>>315619230
lets say you find a really good deal on something you can sell. you have money, but not enough to buy that deal, yet your time is limited since the deal might be a limited time offer or this is only a one time deal, meaning, someone else might buy it and sell it for a profit before you.

thats where credit cards come in. you get a credit, temporary increasing your wealth and making you be able to afford that deal.
>>
>>315622512
I agree. That's the only thing were it's useful.

But if you already have savings, there is no need for credit cards.
