I was hyped for it, even promoted the game on its threads.
I expected more characters like Ajna and Razmi, but sadly it soon became apparent Lab Zero wasn't aiming this game to Skullgirls fans. The vast majority of the newly revealed characters look just uninteresting or "meh", instead of sexy and cool like they should've. That disappointed me greatly, as i was expecting something alike SG instead of what we got, which frankly looks mediocre and sparkless.

When I was like.. 10 years old my favourite character in Chrono Trigger up until this day has been Ayla. Not because of T&A but because I always liked how she was kicking ass and behaved more like a guy than some girl. Best case scenario, the game barely gets funded and in 2.5 (being generous here) years a 7/10 game comes out that's only merits are it's niche appeal and character design (assuming the reviewers of 2018 are the same ones we have today). The game will not sell at all outside of back copies.

Just checked it out for myself after putting it off since the campaign started since I never really cared to look into it. Despite the criticism I like the art style and tone their going with the story (though I'm bias cause I loved Skullgirls),I actually love the Hinduism setting and inspiration, gameplay looks eh, characters seem OK I guess, and the environments and monsters so far look kind of bland. I'm not saying its bad, but this is DEFINITELY not worth 1.5m. The fact that their even asking for that much is a testament to their greed. No way do they need that much.
Apparently if they reach 60% Indiegogo will give them another month to finish funding (which is bullshit too) so I'll wait and see if what they've shown impresses me come December. Also, maybe I'm being spoiled but their fucking rewards absolutely SUCK. Theres no physical artbook offered at all, you can only choose one pick of either a physical OST or Game until $100, T-Shirts as a reward is lackluster, and the Tapir plushie simply doesn't look appealing (or huggable). Anything higher isn't worth it (figure looks shitty, a framed picture isn't that great a reward, and a voicemail? Really?).
All in all, not a lot of incentive for me to support this game. I do expect them to meet the 60% by the deadline (thereby extending their campaign) but as of right now, I'm unimpressed. We'll see if I change my mind, because I really do want to like this, it just has more negatives then positives.

1.) Cut down your team to 10 people at max. Stop hiring excessive amounts of employees (notably artists).
2.) Pay them less.
3.) "Hobby" time. If George Kamitani can make nearly an entire game 100% for free by himself (Aegis Rim's art was all done by him, for free, during his spare time), I'm sure others can.
4.) Move out of California to some middle of nowhere location to cut costs. You don't even need to meet artists in person to get them to do their job.
