I was in a guild ran by a girl
She was the only one able to change members descriptions, so she was putting "<3" (hearths) on members she liked the most.
More hearths meaning better chance to raid with her, guild runs I mean.
Basically each day was random guildies she gathered trying to stuck up to her for more hearths, gifting her materials, gold, helping her farm, and generally talking to her about anything. Just her.
Whenever she appeared online chat would burst into guildies asking her how was her day, does she need anything etc.

I blame WoW for losing my passion to live. Every day was wonderful while I played the game from early vanilla to the start of Cata, but after I stopped playing I felt like I lost something. Now I can't get back that sense of wonder I experienced back then and the game has changed too much for me to wanna go back.

Most guilds in MMOs are like that nowadays.
I think what happened is that guilds stopped being an entirely social thing. Developers started adding guild reward / rep shit, and people just randomly started sending out automated g invites, because they wanted the rep reward shit, not the socializing aspect of a guild.
These people who end up joining aren't friends; they're just affiliated strangers. I remember when people found a guild by playing the game. You'd be invited to one after doing a dungeon, or something. Or you might help someone out in general chat who was asking for help, and you / they would inv you to their guild in return for help. Stuff like this.
Players aren't seen as potential friends or allies anymore -- they're just a commodity.

Nah man a B team is alternative raid group for people who can't meet A-teams schedule. It was created by officers who could only raid later. unfortunately the best players have no lives and are open to more time slots, which the guild leader abused when B team was surpassing A team.
Maybe throwing all your trash into a second team is how the guilds you've been in did it, but in this case that wasn't the system that was established.

This is why they should have made classic servers that went through the content patches accordingly, and fully reset six months to a year after the last patch.
Even on shitty private servers that emulate classic, you have people getting together and helping each other just because the world is engaging, you feel like it's the right thing to do. That's with the limited amount of people they have, with millions more it would be 2005 all over again. There's no hope now, though, the WoW team is spiraling out of control and won't be around much longer.

Our guild leader was tryign to get us to progress in aq40 but the guild were being bitches because they didnt like wiping on stuff and wanted some time off. So our guild leader said any guildies that are online and not in the raid will be kicked. Had happened before and i had no problem with it but this time my friend who was loading wow to his other friend to try and get him into the game got kicked because he was online but not i the raid. The guild leader wouldnt invite him back so i left. me and my friend were both rogues so that was 2 of the top rogues gone. then the class leader of the rogues exploded on the guild master and he got gkicked and people started leaving en mass.
I liked our guild leader because he kept all the idiots together but he started getting carried away.
That guild was like a bad relationship with a beautiful woman. You don't want to leave it but once you do it felt great.
