What do you guys think of Hotline Miami 1 and 2? should a third be made?
Both were fun, and they have fantastic music. the level design in 2 was bullshit though. I wouldn't mind another game in the series, but I'd rather have a good level editor system, kind of like how Mario Maker handles it.
Not if they're gonna make more levels as shitty as the ones in 2.
Second was a cash-in. A slightly charming one but way worse than the first. Cactus should just do something else.
i dont even care about level design or story anymore, id just like a 3rd game to discover even more good artists.

it's a great game but they're barely comparable. im not sure what you're trying to achieve.
I had more fun playing 1, but I had more fun going through 2's story
2's ending was so fucking excellent, and it had some cool masks, but the inability to use whatever mask you wanted on any given level to challenge yourself/come up with interesting new ways to play through really held it back from being what I was oping for in a sequel

1 was good and they should have left it at that. I somewhat enjoyed 2 but overall I felt it just wasn't necessary and felt like a cash-grab. I didn't like how they forced you to play a certain way in 2, and I also felt it overstayed its welcome a little.

Overall Gameplay - 1 > 2
Soundtrack - 2 > 1
If they made a third one (which I highly doubt) they'd better return to the original formula of unlocking masks that are usable throughout all of the levels.
