I did this like a couple of years ago. It was my first attempt at cosplay. I'm not happy at all with the goatee but the rest I like. I haven't done anything since but I'm gonna have a chance this summer. Haven't completely decided on what I'm gonna do but I'm leaning towards Jousuke from JoJoLion. Depends on what you plan on doing. It's more fun with other people so try to plan a meetup. Otherwise, it's still okay to go to panels and check out dealer rooms alone. Also, don't ve afraid to chat up cosplayers (who don't look busy). Don't let your confidence go down if they don't feel like talking much, just find someone else you click with better and don't give a fuck about the failures becuase it'll probably take more than a few times. No, it's not always easy, but you won't gain experiences without trying.

Anime conventions are 10x more fertile ground for DTF cosplay girls than comic conventions. On top of that anime conventions are more of a "meet up" for fans of a certain thing, so if you go to a discussion panel for something you're into and see a cute girl there, you've already got something to talk about. Ask if she wants to tag with you afterwards, then just spend the day together and hopefully it blooms into sex later on.
Oh! It's important to get friendly with her on the first day of the convention when everyone's all fresh, energized, riding solo and looking to party. Your chances are greatly decreased every day thereafter and are next to nothing on the last day.
Be friendly and gentle but forward and confident. These girls are just as much shut-in losers as you are and probably don't have any friends. Keep that in mind.
