I can only speak for myself, but I use Windows 7 64 bit, and I've had no issues with Mechwarrior 2 and 4. Three took a bit of work, but limiting the FPS via driver profiles made it work well. I haven't tried Mechwarrior 1, but I imagine it's DOS only and via dosbox. The windows version of 2 works fantastically.

Yes, mercenaries was amazing. I should clarify further though that everyone saying MW4 is shit don't know what the fuck they are talking about. A lot of the original bitching when it came out was because you couldn't boat on every mech not because of any real downgrading, 4 was far from bad as a whole, hell legging not being an instant kill is a rather massive upgrade.

While on the subject. I remember playing some Mech game ages ago on the PS1 with a friend but I can't remember the name.
It looked a lot like Armored Core. I remember the HUD looking green like that. But I don't think AC1 had any big open forest levels, because that's what I remember playing.
Then I started thinking it might have been one of the other two PS1 AC games but they were never released in Europe.
