Sort of off topic, but Etrian Mystery Dungeon is dropping soon, but I've never gotten into the mystery dungeon series before now.
Any tips?

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, but I can't ignore the annoying crap.
No friend areas. Recruiting pokemon has no sense of accomplishment, since they're just tucked away in a text list.
I emulated and played through mystery dungeon blue a couple of months ago because some anon recommended it and I thought it was pretty fuckingalright, how does this one compare?Cubone master race

Retarded undeveloped fetus levels of ez, forced pokemon moveset style combat on a mystery dungeon game is awkward, party member system feels off. Environments are way too lazy and roguelike levels of plain. Animations are gameboy color tier.

The games have a lot of potential but there is definitely a serious development bottleneck somewhere in there, there just doesn't seem to be too much effort in developing these titles and their sequels with a high standard of quality.
That said I'm expecting much more out of Etrian Mystery Dungeon.
