The biggest problem with DaS II characters is that there is almost no resolution with them at all. Except for Pate and his rival, all the characters either hang out in Majula forever doing nothing or they disappear.
There was no Solaire type character (Lucatiel doesn't count. She was always so gloomy), no proper Lautrec character, no Big Hat, no Siegmeyer, no Laurentius, no Reah. All these character all had shit going on in their lives and had interesting personalities.

Cap your soul level around 100 and you can invade literally anywhere in the game no problem because blue invasion level ranges are enormous. You can probably push it to like SL 110 or 115 and still invade anywhere.
Most populated places to invade as a blue are forest and anor londo. Oolacile township and undead burg are other obvious places. Anywhere else is also fair game if you wanna catch people off guard because you can invade basically anywhere and there are bound to be at least a few people in every location, and at least one of them is bound to be a sinner and human.
Most dead places are probably Undead Parish, the depths, maybe catacombs.

It is a big problem when you're trying to get through the game for the tenth time and you're fucking tired of having to pause in the middle of enjoying progression, go to majula, get through a loading screen, walk over to the Emerald Herald, mash the A key to get through her BEAR SEEK SEEK LEST so you can get in the level up menu, then have to deal with her animation, go back to the bonfire, go through another loading screen to finally get back to where you were. It adds no value and severely breaks immersion by changing the environment suddenly twice, fucks with speed-runners immensely if they're planning on using any kind of level up and just takes a solid 3 minutes every single time. While in DaS 1 it's possible to level up in 15 seconds if you know what you're doing, without going through loading screens for the matter.

I just think DaS 2 isn't even in the same world as DaS 1. Just in a pocket dimension. The actual world of DaS 1 at this point is fully in the age of Dark. Hence the intro sequence, and Things Betwixt being a "Limbo" according the to maiden of the firekeepers. Just figured that going in the Dark Chasm of old you're actually going to the real Dark Souls 1 world, that's why you meet Havel, Ricard, Pharis and others from the first game.
How do player deaths and summons of NPCs work in the world of Souls realistically? I understand other player summons, you'd summon another "you" through time, but what about NPCs? What happens when your player actually dies? Does your body disintegrate and you end up at a fire?
These questions have never been answered for me in these threads.

When you die, you end up in another world. There's an infinity of worlds connected to each others. It's not another you you're summoning, it's someone in another world. When you kill an NPC they go back to another world's bonfire and get further in the hollowing process. That's why multiple NPCs make references to the time frame of lordran being fucked, heroes of centuries ago phasing in and out and multiple events supposed to happen centuries across happening at the same time (meeting both Tarkus and Logan).

There's this thing called "Equipment Load," you ca view it from the status screen or by changing the status screen when equipping armor/weapons by pressing triangle/Y. It works in different weight increments; to roll like in that gif you need to stay below 25% of your equipment load total. If your equipment load is say, 81kg/lbs or whatever, you need to be carrying 20.25 or below.

Not all of them are undead beings so some just die.
Also you take their soul. Ever notice how there are a ton of stone cold dead hollows laying around with lootable souls? They probably actually die if you take their soul. Normal enemies don't drop usable souls and they respawn. Dead dead hollows don't respawn because their soul has probably been ripped from them, hence you can loot it. Bosses probably don't respawn because you take their soul, or they just lose it however those dead hollows managed to lose theirs.
