I know they want to make a controller, but it's so unnecessary right now. Xbox controllers work great on the PC, we don't need anything else.
Controller for platforming, asscreed, gta, batman and other console-like games: a x360 or xbone one, or just another one you can grab and use
And when you don't need a controller, use mouse + pc (for RTS and FPS games, for instance)

no one needs Valve to design a new controller, why are they trying this so badly?
Honestly that looks really cheap. I bet a third party company will do it better if theres a market for it.
Who knows, maybe its really actually comfortable and intuitive, but its hard to believe.
