I have a question, in Disgaea 4, how come sometimes user pirates and people I use from netherbattle tournament have these really fucking unique swords and other weapons I haven't seen anywhere in the game at all, not even on the wiki.
Where are they getting those?

They're either Rank 40 or Slayer weapons.
If you're playing Disgaea 4 on Vita they may be Rank 40-2 weapons.
I haven't played it in months after I got all my stats up to max.

The wand with the three elements on it sounds like the Genesis Wand, which is a Rank 40 IIRC.
The ghost wand you're talking about is probably a Magichanged Ghost unit.
Slayer weapons are rare weapons you can get by punishing certain captured units, their strength depends on how many user pirates you've killed.

Hey, can you steal things from custom maps?
FUCK HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GRIND IN DISGAEA 3 WITHOUT IT TAKING THOUSANDS OF YEARS?
I beat the main story a while back andI 'm trying to search for statisticians in the item worlds but none of my characters are strong enough for the higher levels without me skipping everything by exploiting the throw command.
I can't even do the extra modes, I can't get past Second Period of Beryl's chapter because I have to somehow tank damage for the first three turns because of the stupid Geo Panels preventing me from moving or attacking at the start.
My strongest Characters are Almaz at Lv 133 and Champloo at Lv 119
Any advice? Does the equipment matter more than the levels? Is there any specific place to look for really good equipment? I unlocked the Vato Sword and Gold Knuckle Spear which have helped so much with damage output.

Yeah equips matter a lot more, try leveling up smaller items first in the item world and use that to boost yourself.

What kind of items should I focus on then? Weapons clearly, but what about other equipment? Even my Almaz can only take 2 hits before he's dead with enemies in the Lv 140 range, i'm tired of my characters being glass cannons.
There's just so much to this game it feels really overwhelming.

go into the beryl DLC and steal some trapezohedrons from the first stage. equip one of those on a lvl 1 or something and get it some mana through clubs. now go to that characters class world. Whenever you see a clone of them on a floor kill it with the puppy paw stick, It has a chance to steal an item when it kills something.
once you have a few stack them on a character. for every item that matches rarity on a character you get a 10% stat bonus from items. trapezohedrons increase all stats.

I guess I am. I've never grinded on the normal maps, only in the Item World. This whole time i've barely managed to pull the wins out of my ass because I really had to strategize with all my characters who can't take any decent hits without dying.
I was told not to really grind until I got my hand on a statistician though, should I keep trying to get one of those?

God damn, that's impressive. A few problems though, I don't really understand how to steal items, I have a thief character, and I try to use those stealing items but every time I attempt to go for something worth stealing I get like a 1% chance.
Also, I do not have the Puppy Paw Stick. You get that from the World Of Ordeals or something, right? I haven't passed that bill yet in homeroom to unlock it but I don't think it would be possible for me right now because the level range is way beyond anything i'm able to handle.
Is there anyway I can obtain some really good stealing items and play that first stage over and over to get those trapezohedrons you're talking about?

I want to enjoy it, I just don't know where to begin on getting stronger characters. I thought that once I beat the main story i'd have some kind of idea on how a lot of the mechanics work.
I guess the only thing I can do right now is replay the same battles over and over or explore item world some more.

A good place to start is the DLC, if you're playing on the vita, the DLC has a pretty good level curve so you'll level pretty steadily playing through them.

She is worth leveling for the walking animation alone.
Do you have a character with big bang? its a 3x3 special fist attack. go back to chapter 7 level 3 and punch the fuck out of some mushrooms. when you can handle it boost their level a couple times through the student council. disgaea has some thing throughout the games where level 99 enemies give xp as if they are lvl 300 or something like that.

Right, that's what i'm attempting to do, but Beryl's story is giving me a lot of trouble. Only characters that were steadily improving were my strongest characters Almaz and Champloo. Everyone else is really starting to fall behind.

I'm not sure I can do any of those where i'm currently at. I assume the pirates in the item world are at the really high levels, I usually have to exit at about level 40 or so because the enemies are far too strong, and I can only spam the throw command to get to the exit portal so many times before the random map placement screws me over.

I don't think so. The only characters i have with good area attacks are Mao and Alamaz. What would I do with my characters who dont have area attacks? Should I just focus on leveling one character like how I played Pokemon as a child?

Are you using any generics? The generic classes when used right usually end up better than story characters.

>Dupe the Trapedzohedrons in the Class World and actually finish the last level to get a Gency
>Have around 68 Gencies
>Take one empty Trapezohedron, get +3 MOV on it in the item world
>Get to the very last level
>Kill Item God 2
>Gency out, dont go to the portal
>Repeat until 1.28mil stats

There's a lot to it like getting statisticians to multiply exp gain, weapon mastery etc. There is a guide online. I'd prioritize getting the perfect trap which saves A LOT of time.

You can get them to share the xp through a club in the classroom to characters seated next to them. or was it they leech xp from the ones they sit next to? one of those.

Up to you. If you dont have a character that has a 3x3 spell or special attack that can clear them all in one shot I would move your guys up and just do what you can to clear it before you have to end turn and have them walk off the tiles

You need to really powerlevel your thief. The stealing formulas are really complicated, but there's a few important things to remember.
>Direction matters
Stealing from behind or the side gives you a bonus to your chance. (behind is better)
>Base stats matter
Your thief's base (without items) hit and spd are compared to your target's. Reincarnate your theif often and put lots of points into those stats.
>rarity matters
Rare items are twice as hard to steal, legendaries are worse.
Make sure your thief is always in your A-team and on par with your other best characters if you want to stand a chance at stealing good items.
Disgaea 5's character world looks like Mario Party. I need to get a PS4 soon, I wouldn't mind importing either.
