That's dumb. Strength and endurance is a big part of martial combat. Despite what your chinese cartoons tell you, you're not a fucking speed demon because you're a manlet with no muscle mass.
Stronger people can swing things with higher acceleration and blocking/parrying consistently is heavily dependent on strength.
Especially in heavily armored combat, many people have died simply because they slowed down or were too worn out to raise their arm after a few blocks. Also grapples and take downs were used very frequently as well.
