A true Mother sequel would look as close as possible to pic related, this was the intended evolution to Mother. I don't consider anything else, even the finished Mother 3, a true successor to Mother 1+2. Mother 3 was Itoi compromise and descent into complacency, his interviews basically confirm this.
He settled on Mother 3. It could have been a lot better than it was.

It's the tiny things like that in M3 that make it really good and immersive.

Trailers are dumb, I want people to be surprised by all the little touches and details and new things when it does finally get released. Hype culture like like Smash just ruins the surprise, especially for a game like Mother which is all about those touches. Hopefully they don't go overboard trying to calm down the fanbase who are waiting for it to be released, because I know the dev teams been quiet for months before this trailer.
