For Raidou 1, just get a slew of demons with each one covering a field ability so you can get past the overworld puzzles. As for battle, get a dedicated healer, set them to Auto-Dia, go full WORLD OF STR, and whack shit until you win

Jack from Strange Journey until I said fuck it and fused a new party just for that fight. Getting him to red only to watch that piece of shit heal to full health in the next few turns drove me nuts.
