Surprisingly... I agree. TTYD in particular was a fantastic game. Okay, maybe they're not really the "best" JRPGs, but they're definitely up there with my favorites.

I hate when nearly every jrpg has copy and paste characters who are in no way interesting. At least paper mario focused on it's theme more than the main protagonists.
