I'm fucking pissed.
Assassin's Creed 1 STILL has the best escapes in the entire series. Best assassinations, best chase theme, best atmopshere.

The asssassinations in all the other ACs are so fucking disappointing in comparison.

The only downside it had, was the repetitive gameplay. Other than that, great game.
2 and brotherhood simply crushed it, brotherhood was the serie's peak IMHO
but escapes ≠ assassinations
they are only a part.
most of the AC1 assassinations leading up to the kill were mediocre
AC is dull as shit
are you telling me it is the pinnacle of the series? because if so i wont even try the sequels

Every other game dumbs down the difficulty.

I love that soundtrack. The reprise at ~1:40 is beautiful, but I'm not a fan of the whiny horns or flutes or whatever sandinstrument they used after it.
