It's only hard if you don't make use of your mages/clerics properly, which is pretty easy to do since it gives you a fuckton of spells without any real understanding of what to do with them and managing your party well in combat requires micromanaging your spellcasters at all times because they are complete retards if left to their own devices

This is what fucked me over sometimes. In RPGs I just go the complete opposite direction the main quest tells me to go, and most of the time I just end up fighting high-level monsters that rape my party in one turn.

wisdom is a wasted stat on warrior anyway. It increasing your saving throws is a myth. At least in Baldur's Gate series. You just need 8 int to not to sound like a dumbass in dialogs, wisdom doesn't matter. High charisma is useful though.

Roll paladin of any build, preferably generic.
Minimise charisma to as low as it'll go for Paladins (9 I think) and pump your constitution and strength rolls instead. Make sure you're at least 10+ in the other stats by rerolling if you have to. You don't have to spend eternally rerolling to cheat the fuck out of the rolls though, just make sure you're walking with 18 con and 18+ str.
you want high proficiency in two-handed sword and two-weapon style. Dump everything in there. If you have any left over throw a pity point into longswords and sword-and-shield style. Create character.
Do shitty irenicus as normal, use Dungeon-B-gone if you've done it a million times, great mod. Sarevok's sword? There are many like it but this one is yours. Minsc will get it later.
Then go and do the FUCKING circus tent. Crush it with your paladin mighty might. You're a fucking paladin so in theory you actually care but FUCK aerie, use whoever you want. You really came here for the Ring of Human influence. Wear that shit and never stop. Congrats, you are now a real paladin with 18 CHA and tweaked-as-fuck stats. You are already now capable of taking any fucking party combination you like and wrecking everyone's shit.

The game is hard when you have absolutely no idea about the mechanics. The more you know the easier it becomes, never underestimate how fucking huge the impact of the right potions at the right time can be. Debuffing is almost always necessary to win, I like to cast great malison and then spread the enemies with fear effects to take out the biggest threats.
Summons can absorb the nasty spells of enemy mages before you send your fighters in. It's all about strategy instead of bruteforcing.
Daily reminder for all DnD-based CRPGs - if you are a spellcaster - regardless of whether you're a wizard, cleric, druid, etc. etc. - and you take levels in a non-spellcasting class you are GIMPING yourself. You need to stick with classes that boost your spells per level.
Taking classes in a spellcasting class when you are not primarily a spellcaster will have varying results - if you're trying to get prestige classes for NWN or NWN2 it's understandable otherwise just fucking leave it alone.
Hybrid characters in 2nd Edition games (Infinity engine except for IWD2) are lame. Pure classes best.
