Now, as the articles concerning GAME_JAM's crash and burn, and Rebel Jam going up right after GAME_JAM died, it would be pretty safe to say that Zoe had Rebel Jam planned out many months before the crash of GAME_JAM.
Which means it wouldn't be too difficult to assume that Kuchera, being friends with Zoe Quinn, would be in the know about Rebel Jam from months earlier, if not before he started paying into her patreon.
So in short, it wouldn't be unreasonable to say that Kuchera reserved his spot to either be a host himself, or get journalistic precedence over other companies and journos wishing to cover Rebel Jam by paying into Zoe's Patreon months beforehand.
A bit more digging might help though, don't take any of this as hard evidence, just speculation.

I just wanted to mention that the German video game magazine "GameStar" – one of the biggest in Germany – released an article about the Phil Fish hack.
They stated that Phil claimed he has been hacked by 4chan, but also say that his story seems not very plausible.
They referred to the BreadBlog which claims that exactly after the hack a file with the size of 1.5 GB appeared on the server and that it is impossible for the hacker to transmit this file in such a short period.
They also mentioned that the server is only used for hosting the Polytron website and, therefore, there were no hints that the server would host sensible data.
