Kanjitomo is basically Rikaisama for your OS. You hover over Japanese words and it tries to translate them. It gets results of varying accuracy though and is basically worthless if the text isn't on a flat surface, that's why I have to set the text box opacity all the way to 100%.

Reps really won't help you that much. It's been 1 month since I statred reading my first VN and a look at my statistics tell me that I have 2.5k new cards to review, which would take me like 5 months at the speed I'm currently going. A few words vocab more or less don't do shit, start reading, passively absorb common words get used to the grammar. Words are also commonly used in contexts the English definitions don't provide and you have to kind of "feel" the meaning.
