Great? No it's not. But it's fairly good. It had problems with the combat which they've been working on. The first game had a fairly original concept, chamring characters and played it as a fun adeventure for laughs.

Most of them, including you, don't give the reasons for it's actual problems. Hint: It's mostly the combat in the first game along with shares and grinding mobs for crafting mats in 2/V.
The story though is fine, it doesn't take itself seriously. The graphics are fairly good and the characters are likable. You get plenty of customization via costumes, weapons and accessorys.
There's dlc for extra characters and costumes, cosmetic stuff. There's some p2w dlc but it's not required to beat the games.
You may disagree but it would seem that if there are more games being made then it's still good enough to warrent them.
