Hey /v/, do you think there's actually viral marketing going on on 4chan or is it just a meme? I'd understand companies doing it on places like Reddit where they have a huge user base and a PC audience, but 4chan is seen as a boogeyman by most of the mainstream and the user base is really small compared to other big sites. Thoughts?

If you were going to write a game in the medieval fantasy genre, that could either be a full blown RPG or have RPG elements, how would you do it?

What was the purpose of this guy again? I played through 3 and rouge, but seriously. This guy just acted like a fucking knob throughout the whole series of games. Then when you kill him in 3, he basically says Connor was a mistake and should have never been born. What the fuck was his purpose?

To basically show you that Connor was in the wrong the entire way, and his role in Rogue was basically to cripple Achilles at the end and get taken down a peg by Adewale. All Connor does is basically kill men who were only trying to do what they could to save the Indians and help Britain control another nation. Instead Connor goes essentially sealing his own demise and getting a man who has no idea what he's doing elected into office.
The entire game of 3 he was the best character, and in Rogue he felt out of character, but was still alright for the little he was in it.

Inb4 Fallout is ruined, etc, etc. Yes, we know Fallout 4 is a let down, but lets be real here, there is going to be another Fallout sooner or later. That being so, where do you think the next game should take place?
I've always thought a Fallout game set in Florida would be fun. Swamps, Cuban ghouls, and cults dedicated to worshiping Mickey Mouse in the theme parks. What more could you want?
I think Chicago could be fun, we know the Enclave and BoS already have a presence there.

A lot of AAA games nowadays are trying to make as much money as possible. As a result, the games are developed to be simpler and more approachable so that it can be picked up by a wider audience. While this makes more money, it greatly cripples the design of the games themselves. Fallout 4 is a prime example of this, where they removed key features that the series is known for in order to appeal to more people.
Just because a game makes a lot of money for the company doesn't mean the game itself is actually good. Just sayin'

Games made to make money and developed to be simpler and more approachable aren't necessarily bad games either. Plus, this is not what all AAA games are. There are still multiple great AAA games released every year.
