It's good, yeah.
The world is neat and surprisingly comfy. The attention to details in environments is pretty amazing for a 1996 game. Soundtrack is great. Gameplay's nothing special anymore in 2015, but it's not over convoluted nor way too easy either.
Historically, it's also a quite significant artifact. It moved FF and technically whole Square away from Nintendo's systems, made FF jump from 2D to 3D, made the IP really skyrocket in the west, and made FMVs a common part of the genre and games in general. Plus it was on 3 CDs, aka damn huge adventure for its era.
Only game that doesn't bore the shit out of me... slowly approaching the 1,000 hours milestone, I'm genuinely intrigued as to why this game gets so much hate around here. Enlighten me faggots.

It gets that hate mostly from people who never played it. It also unfortunately has a large brony (and generally pretty young) audience. Additionally, it's F2P, which generally has a very negative connotation. It's a very good game though, I put over 1500 hours into it.

Just tried an Oculus Rift gaming demo.
It was the most overhyped shit ever. I failed to see why people are cumming through their pants and praising it like its the second coming of jesus. Like 3D gaming, it's a gimmick. After five minutes playing it quickly lost any appeal it had.

TP vs SS
•Heart Containers in TP take 5 pieces to fill and there are 11 to get. Making 55 pieces. SS' take 4 and there are only 6 pieces to get, making 24 pieces. 60% decrease in content.
•TP: Fairies don't get used if Link has max health and they interact with him.
•Bow and arrows. You can aim in first (GCN v.) or third person and bomb arrows. You can also snipe. In SS you can only snipe because every item has only one use.
•Can z-target while using items in TP.
•Horseback combat.
•Sword techniques. No techniques in SS aside from the Finishing Blow. 88.333% decrease (if my math is approx).
•You never run out of stamina as wolf Link. Did I mention you could transform into a wolf if you want?
•Three kinds of bombs.
•Better graphics, music, and lore.
