I stopped caring about my 3DS back in August.
Hey /v/. After literally 4 years of playing console games online I got up, unplugged my xbox and playstation, walked down to the local game store, and sold them. With the 900 dollars I got from selling my ps4 and xbox one I went online and bought parts for a new pc. I got an 8 core amd 4.0 ghz processor, 16 gb of ddr3 gaming ram, 3 2tb drives, a kickass motherboard, some top quality water coolers, and a kickass case. The reason for me switching to pc is simple really. Fucking. 12 year olds. The little bastards have been ruining online gaming since Ultima online and have pretty much switched to consoles altogether. The last straw was when, in the middle of a mature, reasonable conversation with a friend while playing call of duty, I killed some kid. Then, I killed him again and he screamed, and I quote: "STOP FUCKING KILLING ME YOU ARENT PLAYING THE GAME RIGHT. QUIT IT RIGHT NOW OR I WILL DDOS YOUR GRANDMOTHERS LIFE SUPPORT." I sent my friend my skype, and canceled my memberships. These little fucks can stay on consoles for all I care, Im gone from that hellhole. Anyone else have any seeing the light stories?

What is it about 64/PS1 era games that is just charming? Even for people who didn't grow up with them, they just seem to sort of enchant anyone who plays them. They're comfy, even for younger gamers, in a way that most games now aren't, but I can't put my finger on why.

That's a true statement but then why do they still emit that same atmosphere even for older players? For example, I recall when Viva Pinata came out, several of my friends were embarrassed of buying it and chastised by others for buying a "children's game". On the other hand, I was like 10 when Mario 64 came out and I remember high schoolers being hype about it. Shit, my uncle was grown with a child and he was hype about it.
Games weren't as edgy back then. It was before GTA3.

also alien isolation is a great game, really captures the spirit of Alien and especially the production design.I played it on x360 before this, that was a painful experience
my toaster laptop can run this at high/medium settings
isolation is a well optimized game
try fallout 4 or any ubisoft open-world game, and see how it renders your system to ashes
