One of my new favorite indie games and I dont know anyone who cares about this. Do I just have bad taste?
Your taste in fine, Pixelshit Metroidvania just get no love nowadays.
This has some of the most ass Bosses ever though.
Environmental Station Alpha, despite being even more pixelshit, is much better overall.
I didn't think I'd like it at first, but Axiom Verge is great. Guns are fun to experiment with, I liked the little alien dude you could control, and the atmosphere really pulled me in. Also, Elsanova best waifu.
Also, while it won't ever fill the metroid-shaped hole in my heart, it's not a bad fit.

Always be on the lookout for new recruits and stars.

Game isnt really hard to get through by itself, though recruiting everyone without a guide on your first playthrough is litterally impossible. Still get as many as you can. Some can only be recruited during a limited period of time somehwere in between the story and if you miss them they will will no longer be recruitable, others can only be recruited if you have the correct character in the party, have a animal in the party, upgraded your weapon to the highest level etc etc. So watch out for that.

Played through DaS3 and beat SoC. Played aimlessly for about half an hour before returning to BB.
It just didn't scratch the itch, if you take my meaning. Then again, I haven't found anything that does. It's a damn shame we'll never see another DLC or sequel. Probably not even another patch. Is anyone even working on it anymore?
The best? Fuck no, but it was a very good game I thoroughly enjoyed. It's a damn shame it's exclusive, it'll never be able to be properly discussed on /v/, and so many people haven't had a chance to play it.
More's the pity that exclusives exist, frankly.
