You have to remember that this came out in a time when people were pushing for Capcom to try something else other than Resident Evil and Street Fighter.
Believe me, I hated this game for all the required backtracking and shallow filler quests.

Unlike the first game where it was a massacre and nearly every character that could die did, this time around I seemed to have fared better at survival.

Ekkil presumably died while fighting the Dredge, I never saw him again (The old man, on the other hand, came back as the sole survivor)
And I let Ugin go with the horses to the south. (Maybe he would have gone either ways, not sure)
I thought Aleo died in some mysterious way because he isn't on my roster anymore but then he kept appearing in cutscenes and dialogues so I guess it's just a weird bug.
