All the threads I see about No Man's Sky have shitty OPs, so I'm making my own.
ITT: We discuss our speculation, skepticism, or cautious optimism surrounding this game. Or whatever it is you prefer.
Personally, I understand people's criticisms of NMS before release, but going off of only what I've seen shown of the game so far, I'm reasonably sure that I'll have a good time with it. I'm very curious to see what the center of the galaxy is all about at least.
The $60 price tag definitely gives me pause (I certainly won't be pre-ordering), but I have a feeling they wouldn't have made it full price if they didn't have some level of confidence that this game is a level of quality beyond the typical indie fare. Then again, that could just be part of the smoke and mirrors, right? We'll see.
My expectations are in check and I'm not anticipating to do EVERYTHING EVER IMAGINABLE. Ever since playing Ratchet and Clank 1 and seeing distant planets in the sky I always wanted to just fly to them in real time. If I can play an hour or two ever day or so then I would be fine paying 60 for it.

That's pretty much where I'm at.
Ever since Spore I've known better than to take the hype train all the way up to the second sphincter.
I know how these procedural space games are, but this is looking to be a pretty exceptional one.
>Imagine the glorious future of /v/
>NMS has come out. People make threads to post images of cool shit they found in the game having a fun time.
>You get that one guy who streams the fact he never left his first planet and it's taking months to walk completely around it
>Another streamer is making it to the center of the galaxy w/o landing on any planets
>Images of dinosaurs, cute penguins, and cthulu monsters
>/v/ shitposters keep memeing muh 6 pallet swaps and keep trying to turn NMS into Tortanic
>Mods filter "Literally anything" into "desu senpai"
>What a great time to be alive
So my friens and I just bought these games, and we want to connect from our home wifi to play together.
Surprisingly, we haven't been able ti figure out how to do this after searching Google and YouTube. According to the information on the box, these games support wifi co-op and vs. play.
Your experience with this would be appreciated! Also, if anyone wants to swap friend codes we could play Pokemon. Thanks /v/..
You're too innocent to keep posting here, friend. Leave while you still can and try a pokemon forum or someplace else.
Do you mean over the internet, or side-by-side?
>>335737087
over the internet. isn't this supported?
If Nintendo brought back Space World would that help with the NX reveal time?
They should rename is Safe Space World because thats where all the Nintoddlers from /v/ want to go now lmao

>In 1992, Nintendo—spurred on by then-president Hiroshi Yamauchi—went out and bought a majority stake in the Seattle Mariners baseball team. It was one of the most 90s things Nintendo ever did, but today, that era comes to an end.
>The Mariners announced today that Nintendo are looking to sell most of their 55% stake in the team to other members of the current ownership group.
>It brings to an end one of the weirdest acts of team ownership in pro sports. Yamauchi never went to a baseball game in his life. Not before buying the Mariners, not during his ownership, not even when the Seattle team played friendlies in Tokyo, where Yamauchi lived. When he died in 2013 there was speculation that Nintendo’s stake in the team would be up for grabs, but at the time the company decided to keep hold of the Mariners.
>That time is now up, with the move expected to be completed in August. In addition to the sale Howard Lincoln—former Chairman of Nintendo of America—will be stepping down from his role as CEO of the Mariners, but will remain on the board to oversee the 10% stake in the team that Nintendo will keep hold of.
Why the fuck would a video game company buy a sports team? Shouldn't they be focusing on, you know, making FUCKING VIDEO GAMES?
>>335736651
Yamauchi was a crazy old man who literally did whatever the fuck he wanted.
And somehow, it worked and the guy made Nintendo good.
>>335736962
well what the fuck happened since he died?

See why traditional forum format always beats an imageboard in the end? At this point, /v/ is just a place where millenials can share their doubleplus ungood views without fear of being downvoted or shadowbanned. Previously it was Undertale, now it's this and whatever Bethesda shills are pushing during their internship.
Make threads about what you wish to discuss.

I have a question for /v/
Why are villains most of the time portrayed as intelligent in videogames? Ignorance/Idiocy is the root of all evil, and most "evil" people are not very smart, or particularly educated.
Because a retard wouldn't be able to head a whole criminal organization, now would they?
>most "evil" people are not very smart, or particularly educated.
That picture has a bad story to go with it doesn't it
so why is this nigga just a floating head, they never really explained it well or I just didnt pay attention to the "lore"

Is it too early for a Nier/DOD thread?
Just gathering black pearls right now and was wondering if anyone else was playing Nier. Maybe I'll try again later.
Well this is odd. Found myself playing Nier for the first time in years today.
What's happening?
Are we collectively feeling something?
Why does Nier have the best gameplay?

>>335735506
You either pick one and just roll with it, or wait to get an urge years later.
I'm actually thinking of setting up a schedule to finish up all the old games I didn't finish, since the hard part for me is figuring out how test compatibility with some of these really old games. Once I start playing I know I'll have a blast, but the hard part is getting the ball rolling.

>>336270267
I have never played any of the games.
Where do I start? Is it one of those series that gets good in the later games?
>>336270402
played all of them except PS4 one,
they are really fun if you are into over the top weeb shit and dishing out huge numbers of damage.
There IS A LOT of grind if you want the best stuff but it is optional.
In the main storyline at the last boss you are going to do like 3-4k damage per hit while grinding in post-game can lead you to 10 billion per hit.
Good typical jap humor, cute characters.
You won't miss anything for skipping games except for cameos. Since every game is new plotline
>>336270402
They're all pretty good in my opinion, but the gameplay improves with each new game. Starting with the first one should be fine though.
>you lived long enough to see Nintendo die
>Implying they were hardly alive in the first place
SNES was their only decent console, and mostly due to third party support.
Nintenyearold shit, much like your weebtrash, has always been garbage.
good
fuck nintendo.
lazy, greedy monetizing youtube vid garbage of a company
