I wouldn't believe that the beta is the lifetime trial for the game. My bet is that blizz is going to go starcraft style on this and allow free players to play brawl only, or have a weekly hero rotation without access to competetive mode.
It's basically guaranteed that there will be a cash shop for cosmetics, if only for buying the ingame currency that you can use to buy stuff outright
The real question is how will they handle introduction of new actual content. Maps and modes will certainly be free as any modern FPS realizes that you can't split the community, but how will they approach introducing new characters?
Can we have a good animations thread? 2D and 3D welcome.
Animations are more important than graphics and arguably second to gameplay but are overlooked.

I just beat DS1 for the first time. Overall I enjoyed it and I was wondering if I should get DS2 or just go straight to DS3. I know a lot of people hate DS2, but why? is it that bad compared to 3?

DS2 is not skippable because of many lore points and items returning in DS3. DS3 has many more DS1 than DS2 references but still, it's more souls which is always fun.
Hating DS2 is a big meme here, it still has the best PvP in the series and is the longest of all the games.
Make sure to get the definitive Scholar of the First Sin DX11 edition.
dark souls 2 was made with another team that was out of touch of the flavor and themes that made dark souls good
basically they made a bunch of new shit and copy pasted names and items, other than that, it feels like a different game
the graphics were massively downgraded from the trailers which caused a huge controversy
if you try to mod the games graphics in any way you can get softbanned
lastly, soul memory is the dumbest fucking system in the soul series
this is why dark souls 2 is seen as shit
on the other hand, dark souls 3 was made by the original team and feels like a real dark souls 2, it even continues the story. dark souls 2 is some "hurr in the far future when everything is irrelevant"

Garden Warfare 2 has more content, more varied and better balanced characters and faster paced gameplay than Overwatch.
