What do you guys think of talent trees? Are they good or bad for ARPGs?
I'm starting to make an ARPG and want to know what you guys think.
I'm thinking about just making it so skill/spells level up when used (from 0 to 100) and go from 70% (min level) to 120% (max level) effectiveness or something like that. Each level would require more use than the last.

I recently got the chance to look around NOA's building, completely unsupervised, and found quite a lot of interesting information. Specifically, on how Nintendo thinks of it's fans.
Simply put, Nintendo does not even consider people who cry on message boards, particularly sites like NEOgaf, /v/, or Gamefaqs as being part of their audience. Rather, they assume that that demographic, for the most part, whines about games they do not play. They really don't take the complaints about Star Fox Zero, Color Splash, or Tokyo Mirage Sessions seriously at all. Actual feedback they get from real consumers is quite different than the crying you see online.
In reality, Sticker Star is actually quite popular among older fans who lead busy, interesting lives. Famous artists and writers in particular, a lot of whom claim that they're buying Wii U's for this one game.
Nintendo is very pleased, and had Color Splash made for this demographic. Nintendo has a very strict 'anti manchildren' policy right now, and is really looking into making video games more sophisticated and interesting, and Color Splash seems to be doing a great job of that.

So, feeling like a majorNORMIElately because I cannot seem to beat this fucker. I've probably tried 50 times. Never had this much trouble with any other boss in the series.
Any tips? I've mostly been using chaos dark sword and a light shield so I can fast roll, but I also tried a tank style build with greataxe and greatshield of glory. Neither are working for me.
I usually get him into second phase but then get killed in one hit. I do have pretty low vigor, maybe that's the problem.
