Looks really boring. Why the hell are they all just standing there while only one guy fights you? And what's with the dumb as hell rolling around and twirling about that sends you zooming fifty feet across the ground?

Witchers longsword fighting is called sword dancing. Pirouettes, twirling, side stepping, one handed swings, two handed swings, stabs behind you, half-swording. Sapkowski tried to make Witchers seem more badass. Like thanks to the mutations, signs and potions they wouldn't even need to fight efficiently but rather use fancy dance moves.

I'm just twitchy when I play and I like closing distances and I try to get the enemies stamina down too.

any other game you would just go to where eskel is. i mean complain about it all you want but at least there is some semblance of tracking there, in the game. please point me to some rpgs that do 'real' tracking.

Recommend me good multiplayer games, /v/. You know stuff about videogame. Most of them don't know what they'd like to play and I'm open to everything*, so just shoot!

WE

So Josh Holmes confirmed today that the full Halo 5 is never coming to PC, and also that it is impossible to publish a map forged on PC for just PC users. Once published, it's available for download on XB1.

He also confirmed that there will be no dedicated server browsers. You can only test maps on PC with friends from your Xbox live account.
Oh, and you need Windows 10.

So theoretically, this is Halo 5 multiplayer on PC, but it sounds even more alienating than Halo 2 Vista was, and we know how that turned out.

Pretty much.

I have no doubt that the forge mode will be utilized, but anyone that thinks this is going to Jumpstart a healthy Halo 5 custom community doesn't know PC gamers.
>>
I've talked to so many people already that have absolutely no interest in utilizing the Xbox Live friends system, something they don't even have, to organize multiplayer sessions on PC.

This will probably just be used for the forging.

What should I buy if I actually liked (some of) the gameplay of Crysis 1? (Hated 2, haven't tried 3 because it looks far closer to 2 than 1).

I liked:
* Seeking out good weapons and attachments and keeping them for the rest of the game
* Planning encounters and preparing accordingly
* * FY71 with scope and silencer for hiding in bushes and picking off the enemies
* * SMG with laser sight for barging into a building and mowing down multiple enemies in a few seconds of adrenaline
* Finding vehicles but only driving them so far since I'll be noticed if I get too close
etc etc
* Semi-open world; not a huge sparsely-detailed boring plane like RPGs, but still large enough that I can approach things from multiple angles and no "leaving mission area" bullshit
* Difficult enough that I have to think before shooting but not so difficult that I have to play it as a sim (I don't like ARMA et al)

I disliked:
* The generic US military-industrial complex theme (I know this sounds hypocritical given the above, but all the military radio chatter, gruff voices spouting "DOWNLOADING DATA NOW.", yaddayadda actually put me off. It's been done to death, US military is no longer an interesting backdrop to play)
* The mother fucking aliens, whole second half of the game is awful

Metal Gear Solid V. Yes really.

Interesting. Should I pick up Ground Zeroes first? Is it representative of Phantom Pain's gameplay?
>>
>>338398901
Definitely picked up Ground Zeroes first. It's the beginning of the game. It is representative of PP's gameplay, but PP adds more features and has a vast open map with multiple outposts to fuck with. The plot is really ignorable, but if you feel like doing some studying while playing Ground zeroes I recommend listening to the cassette tapes while you complete challenges n shiet.

It's time to admit that the controls for this game are stellar, and really help evolve the series to be something else entirely.

>It is perfectly possible to aim at angles you would never be able to reach with more traditional controls, which gives the game an insane amount of depth
>The cinematic angles that occur when you lock onto to a specific target allow for some unusual enemy combat patterns, such as Aquarosa's force field or the Carrier's spinning laser laser attack. Dodging them takes a bit of practice, and a lot of skill.
>The gamepad view allows for more precise aiming that helps you nail small targets, such as Star Wolf. Dog fighting in this game is insane because of this.
>Small changes, like how even a small hit can make you lose your power ups, really make the game feel much more challenging.

This game is a real treat, and I'm really glad it got made.

It doesn't matter if they're good or not. YOU WILL NOT FORCE ME TO USE CONTROLS.

When I'm paying you money, you bow to my whim and give me whatever control scheme I want. Otherwise, I won't give your game the time of day. How dare you think I have to make sacrifices just so your company can make more profit?

I actually don't mind the controls, however I still agree it was stupid as fuck they didn't include an option to control the ship like a regular star fox game.

There was no reason to take such a big chance by implementing an experimental control scheme into a game people have been waiting nearly 20 years for.
