I was checking one of my local stores lately and ran into Fallout 4 50% off.
But, I sadly missed the shitstorm around its release and all.
Can I ask you, dear /v/ - is it really as bad as everyone says? Basically barely holding together bullshit plot, with no real exploration, barely any RPG elements left and no chance for real gamebreaking mods?

FO4 is not bad, people are just angsty teenarges rebelling against a white wall. It's a much better waste of your time than many other games nowadays.
Basically, play as vanilla as you can on 1st playthrough, use only QOL mods and the like
Leave game for 6 months, come back, install all the mods and play again the way you want

Are there any space combat sims that have a distinct "volatile junkyard" aesthetic? What I mean is that the ships are old and used rust buckets and the pilots are daredevils. Shit's naturally dangerous out there, hyperspace is risky tech, and everything is far from "high tech", kind of the opposite of what Elite Dangerous is pulling.

There's nothing exciting in Elite, even the combat gets dull after a while. There's literally nothing dangerous out there that can fuck up the player, hell you can even fly through black holes and suffer nothing save for funny visuals.

Why is this a constant complaint from you faggots? How fucking easy do people need their invasions? You're there to kill someone in a game where hosts die all the fucking time. Not only that, but unless the host seeds the world you have the entire level and all the enemies at your disposal. I only do invasions and I absolutely hate coming across a solo host. Invaders should revel in the chaos and trying to wipe out a host's phantom army. If it's a 1v1 you want find a fucking fight club.
