I posted awhile back but the thread 404'd so I'm trying again.
I don't know if coming here is the right decision, but I'm out of options. I have searched long and hard for this game and I cannot find it at all.
The only things I can remember about it are that it wasn't much of a game and more of a virtual sci-fi world to explore. If I remember correctly the name of the game is also the name of the universe that the author created. It's indie, freeware, and the author apparently occasionally updates it. I vaguely remember there being a desert setting in one of the screenshots.
I saw it in a "n Best Freeware Games" list somewhere but can't find that particular list again.

STLM is a meme
I use the ultimate lighting mod to enable cutscene lighting. It brings realistic light, shadows, and color to the real game so it doesn't look like a washed out cartoon
There's another good one in the same vein as STLM but less stylized colors and closer to a neutral yet vibrant color palette. Hold on while I look it up

Believe it or not, I had an opportunity to do the same thing before this guy, but I chose not to. I left someone's house and the boxing gloves (house only item) were still equipped and it gave me the option to attack people. I went back inside the house and unequipped the boxing gloves and left and everything was normal again.

They're completely aware they are lazy as fuck and mock us by saying we want to dig through code and grind through all the items and stats to try and find whatever the fuck they changed.
