The game was literally on sale yesterday, and several times before. How did you miss it?
Can we have an honest discussion about the new Homefront game from people who've actually played the game? Preferably on PC?Beta doesn't count. It was a crappy beta for a crappy MP mode with no relevance to the singleplayer campaign.
I liked it. I played on PC. Visuals were quite impressive. Graeme Norgate did a pretty good job with the music. The open world hit-and-run gameplay is pretty fun, although it does become a bit repetitive as you cause chaos in each zone.
I honestly enjoyed it more than any of Ubisoft's Far Cry games. It has a charm to it. It doesn't feel like a corporate designed-by-committee product, but rather a game made by a small team trying to do their best.

I'm playing it now, but I really don't like discussing it here since literally every thread about it here is very obviously made by a marketer.

Some of the attention to detail in the character modelling is insane. There is a certain visual inconsistency you tend to get with open world games, but your character's gloved hands are some of the best gloved hands in videogames.

it's a ridiculous soap opera but it's compelling because so much happens quickly and never falls into a rut of predictability

The gunplay is good. The music is bad. The game is literally one artificial arena after another where you fight waves of enemies over and over with no real variation. You spam the attack button, hop a lot, and spam the glory kill button. This game is so boring it makes me want to kill myself. It's the worst FPS game I've played in years. How is this an acclaimed videogame? It's basically Serious Sam 3 and Shadow Warrior's shittiest parts mashed together and held together with pentagrams and the worst music Mick Gordon has written in his entire career. It makes Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 retrospectively look like a well designed and well paced videogame, and that is an astounding feat.

And this is the real sticking point. Doom 4's basic game design is the complete antithesis of every single Doom game ever made. They've taken those awful sections in Shadow Warrior where lots of demons spawn after you destroy something, and built a game around it. It's baffling. What were iD Software thinking?
