I don't think its the best silent hill game, but its definitely the most interesting, and sp00py. Playing it right now in the dead of night, its definitely scary. I think PT drew some influences from it, no?

True. It's perhaps the most underrated SH game so far. The overall "hate" towards it feels weird too.
I liked it already back in 2004, and I still quite like it today. Sure, it ain't SH1 & 2's god-tier horror experience, but it's super atmospheric, pretty, and has some clever ideas.
Really dig the whole Room's concept.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" fix works as a no-cd crack as well, and is included in the pack.
In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.

here's the recommended emulator settings for SH1. Works great on all other games too.
The plugins used are:
-Pete's OpenGL 1.78; (more options & better performance than 2.x version)
-Eternal's SPU Engine.
alternatively just use a software renderer for very 1:1 PS1-like graphics, including 240p only.
...OR just buy the game from PSN Store for few bucks.

I would say the black soldiers are part butthurt/meme but I've seen a lot of people complain about what you listed. I'm pretty fucking pissed that bolt actions aren't prevalent as the games main firearm.

Overwatch would benefit from forcing one hero to a game, i.e. a person picks Hanzo and nobody on their team or the opposing team can pick Hanzo.
