It's probably easier to fertilize an egg with another egg's nucleus than implanting a working uterus in a male. And males have no eggs and I don't know if you can turn one of their cells in something akin to an egg, so they would have to get a donor. So all in all at most maybe the kid could have the genes of 2 men, but it would have to be carried in an woman's womb.

Once technology is developed enough, stem cells can be treated to develop into whatever people want (because, surprise, the whole human body was made this way), and that include eggs and sperm and whatnot. In fact, the bottleneck in the foreseable future right now is not whether eggs can be produced by males, but to successfully transplant a uterus in a male, one that can support a baby.
And if we're talking about "not pure enough since the kid doesn't have only the two lovers' genes", then how is 2 males getting an egg donor any difference from two females getting a sperm donor in the case of AI?
Finally, magic. I fail to see how writing about two guys having a magic baby "implies shitty writing" than two girls having a magic baby.

The main point of this thread is pregnancy, which is the act of carrying a baby on one's uterus. Males are born without uterus, so of course it sounds more unbelievable for them to get pregnant. Women can get pregnant, the only magic aspect in yuri is making the kid having the genes of 2 girls. As for men you must do the magic for the baby to have genes of 2 males and make it possible for one of them to have an uterus, it is more of a stretch.

You're taking Punnett squares too literally. Human genes are much more complicated than plant genes, a recessive gene can go many, many generations without being realized and still be present. Most genes are present to some extent in the entire population but just keep getting passed on without being realized, like how babies can be born with six fingers seemingly out of nowhere even though the genes necessary for that are hyper-recessive. Look at the rare white-furred Black Bears in the Pacific northwest, essentially all the black bears in the Bear Rainforest carry the gene but only something like 8% of them are actually born with white fur.
