The issue wasn't about Adam himself as a character. It was about how the scene was written and how Adam was portrayed in relation to Blake as something sexist.
I had first heard of this opinion listening to Overly Animated Podcast (they did a show on the episode) and I couldn't quite make sense of their explanation. But the two hosts seemed to think RT was being sexist with that scene.

How disappointed do you think Cinder will be that she'll be stuck in the medical center of Salem's death fortress while Salem's corrupting Pyrrha? I'd be pretty pissed that I didn't get to watch it.

Look, I'm not the one in charge of making these decisions.
I think it was meant to make him scary, Blake is obviously scared of him. I think they accomplished showing just why she is scared of him, both his obsession, abilities, and how far he's willing to go to hurt her.
If they felt it was sexist the way she lost the fight an ran...well Adam's obviously on another level and running is in character for her. I don't think the scene as a whole was sexist, you could probably argue that Adam is a bit due to his controlling, domineering attitude in the scene, but I don't think Rooster Teeth and the writers were.

I feel like the shift from naruto with girls to attack on titan was really poorly handled and worse, a lot of it was really unsatisfying. We've got a four person body count and two of those didn't even get a meaningful end. Hell, Yang's character's going to be totally derailed from everything I liked about her as a result of a total non-fight. And don't say "Adam's just too far above her level"; so was Neo and they successfully gave her a fight that showed Yang was way out of her depth anyway.

Yang's powers don't 100% make sense, since her semblance is meant to be oldschool City of Heroes blaster Defiance, but we've also seen that she has an anger powerup mode complete with super saiyan visuals, and has some fiery attack elements. She also seems to be overly strong.
It's possible this is all just random fluff which isn't meant to mean anything, though, but still, Yang does seem to have more shit to play with than most characters who aren't Weiss.

The chart feels way too huge given half of them are generic mooks with dye jobs. Also I wasn't sure if "WHY" was "This ship is awful" or "This ship is awful and I hate myself for liking it". I'd put Ruby/Cinder under the latter, for example.

I agree that the mood whiplash was real, volumes 1 and 2 took too long so everyone got used to a lighter atmosphere and lack of real danger. However, it's too early to complain how they will ruin Yang's character.
She obviously relies a lot on her bullshit Semblance, she doesn't think before she fights because that is BENEFICIAL to her fighting style. So what if she gets punted through a concrete pillar, she just ramps up even faster and stomps the opponent. All's well that ends well, right?
When she went up against Neo she was hopelessly outclassed, she lost and learned absolutely nothing. In the tournament she lashed out at Mercury and was publicly humiliated - and she still learned nothing. She didn't even say that she regretted punching him, only that she regretted that things ended up like this.
And now she went up against Adam and she's lucky to be alive. Her entire character arc has been leading up to this revelation, she needs to git fucking gud before she actually dies because of her recklessness.
She's always been upbeat and positive and that's unlikely to change.
With her team and arm gone, her plans for the future ruined and her mother telling her that she can die for all she cares she's obviously down in the dumps but it's only a matter of time until someone slaps sense into her and she gets her shit together.

I wanna see Yang do more careful, precise fighting like she did in her trailer. My favorite part was that brief footwork duel with Melanie where they're both trying to out-feint each other for a few seconds.
M-maybe she can have some private training sessions with Blake after she tracks her down.

Good. It made no sense for the character, and honestly, I get the whole "cool" factor, but having every fight and character be "how can I attack this person in the most completely unnecessarily elaborate way possible" was getting a bit old. The characters who need the complex choreography still have it (Neo, who doesn't take fights seriously and toys with opponents, and Ruby who's style and weapon require more complex spins and attacks) other characters who don't need it no longer have it (Ironwood, who attacks efficiently and without fanfare; and Cinder who can now just rely on raw power instead of having to outmaneuver opponents).
I get that choreographed fights is what people originally came to the show for, but it was never going to last on that to begin with, and the current fighting feels a lot more realistic and varied than every character having taken lessons from the Wakowski brothers.
Yang is an idiot who has always gotten by on mindlessly charging in and letting her semblance do the work. It always irked me that in the middle of her fight with Melanie, she just completely changes style from boxing to some bizarre pseudo-aikido arm manipulation for the final kick.

Seriously speaking, however, neither her semblance nor her fighting style imply she's good at sneaking. She should, however, be good at distracting the enemy with her false images. "Should", because as far as I remember we've never seen a 2 vs (pick your favorite number) where Blake would use her semblance for the benefit of her partner. Only time she does that is when she needs to get Yang away from Adam.
She uses it in her fight with Roman on the train, sure, but as an attacking ability, not supporting.

Her reaction was just that, a reaction. It's not like she had a lot of time to do the math. Add this to her riding an adrenaline rush from fighting and winning, and her "choice" was pretty much made for her the moment she saw Mercury attacking.
I'm not saying that it was the best way to react, nor that she wasn't at fault, but saying that she had chosen to do it that way is a bit stretching it.

That's ridiculous. There was no previous character to compare her performance to, it WAS her character. She wasn't doing all sorts of cuhrayzee unnecessary moves, she was just fighting more smartly, probing her enemies' defenses for vulnerabilities. She even takes a defensive stance at some points in her fight with the twins and blocks until she sees an opening to slam her fist into one of them.

It's mixed martial arts. Even ignoring the fact that it's silly to make assumptions about her combat education based on real disciplines, since Remnant is not Earth, it would still make sense for a fighter like her to know a few grapples and throws. Especially because she is training to fight monsters of many varying physiologies and not just compete in boxing competitions.
