So to what degree do /u/ guys think the Hime Star affected the Hime if at all? Not necessarily an excuse for their actions as all the girls acted a bit crazy but I like the idea of the Hime Star causing a blood rage like affect a pity they didn't play up the cosmic horror like nature of the Obsidian Lord.
Some Ergo Proxy crossover Gothic R-el Natsuki does everything for me.
Needed a palate cleanser and this suffices.

Shizuru seems to be the only one of the Hime who gets demonized for her actions.

Doesn't the show say as much? Even Mai goes berserk eventually.
The festival is supposed to amplify emotions and drive its participants into blood lust. That's why we see all the girls at their worst. I guess Shizuru sticks in people's minds because her actions seem the most extreme, both sexually and otherwise. But that was always supposed to be the point of her character, she was the seemingly-innocent bystander who had a dark secret - that her love for Natsuki was so strong that it'd drive her to do horrible things for her sake.
That's partly why Mai Otome is fun, it allows us to see what their relationship would be like without all the horrors the Festival entailed. And like all the other pairings, they're much better off there.

Well My Hime is only relatively light hearted for the first half once the festival of carnival kicks in things go south for everyone pretty fast.

Hell the blu ray had a special after the series bit where they all go to the beach and forgive each other... mostly Reito who was possessed by the Obsidian Lord gets buried in the sand and fed spicy food and Nao and Yukino vow to do something to Shizuru. Given Natsuki's reaction though I doubt she'd just sit by or at the very least let things get too out of hand.

I prefer Mai Hime characters way better.
They are way more badass in Mai Hime than Otome whose main characters sucked.
Not to mention Shizuru said she had fun with Tomoe despite doing it to trick her. I don't like her character so much in Otome, plus she and Natsuki barely got air time, since apparently they thought the older man- fathercest love triangle would be better as a main plot.
Even in fanfiction noone writes about these mains from Otome except Tomoe who makes a good villain.
I think Mai Hime producers could make a very good profit out of this anime, even now if Shiznat has an important role in it. I hope we get a new season some time lol
