It is doing extremely well, I've seen youtube channels be successful with considerably less views. There's no way to know their budget but Ep 1 has about 140k views already. If this wasn't a web series where anything could happen I'd say a second season is guaranteed.

I don't see how they're making any money from the Youtube videos since there aren't any ads at all. I highly doubt Youtube pays channels for views, it probably is a pay-per-impression or pay-per-click system (for ads). No ads = no $$.
