This is the first time we've been given any real insight into Seola's backstory and particularly why she has trust issues with other women. Also, her burgeoning sexuality, imo, though there's plenty of people who seem to want to think that she and Norea were completely ignorant and untouched until they met each other. I want to see them interact as well, but considering the fact that we also have guaranteed updates every week I'm happy with the pace so far.

i still don't understand why everyone seems to already jump to the conclusion that seol-a was in love with yu-ji. it was never explicitly said and nor was it really implied heavily enough. yu-ji is seol-a's first close friend and that's that. if seol-a really was in love with her then there should've been some sort of epiphany or realization and acknowledgement now that she knows what she feels for no-rae and hence, she should've also been able to finally label what she actually felt for yu-ji in the past.
but there was never any of that realization. she never said anything along the lines of "hey, i think my feelings for yu-ji back then are similar to what i feel for no-rae now. she must've been by first love." still, she doesn't need to have been in love with yu-ji for her to feel the way she does now. seol-a's been awkward with girls her entire life and then comes along the very first female friend she's ever gotten close to. it's safe to assume she'd feel some sort of attachment or even admiration. and then she gets betrayed in her face and then finds out two years later that she's dead and seol-a will never be able to get closure. of course she'd react the way she did. again, just because she's breaking down whenever yu-ji comes up doesn't mean she was in love with her for seol-a to react like that.

This. I don't think Seol-a could ever fully get to the stage of liking someone romantically due to her problems with initially befriending them. I think she was getting there with Yuji but it never really panned out because she fucked her over (for whatever reason). It feels like Seol-a was mostly enamoured with her because she was her first "real" friend. I'd say at the very most it was an unrealised crush.
You kinda do things you are afraid of for the one you love. She could and did do that for No-rae. At the time she went after No-rae after the argument but most importantly those times she opened up to No-rae about her wanting someone to never leave her. Exposing her true vulnerabilities, if you will. She couldn't do that with Yuji (far as we are aware anyway). Maybe her behaviour back then was because she was immature and childish, but if you are immature and childish you probably aren't likely to be "in love" either. All this reaction from Seol-a right now just screams of regret. It doesn't necessarily show she was in love with Yuji. She just regrets not patching stuff up with her first best friend.
So I think No-rae is her real deal. Talk of first love with yuji just sounds cheap. No-rae IS the first love. Yuji is just a puzzle piece fitting into the bigger picture behind Seol-a's love for No-rae.

I partially agree with you. I dont think Seola was in love with Yuji. But I do think she did have some subtle (romantic) feelings/crush on Yuji that had got shot down by Yuji's betrayal before the feelings developed into something more categorizable/comprehensible. I think the reason Ssamba brought Yuji into the story was to say Seola got reminded of the similar vibe/tension when she's with Norae. When Seola followed Norae to her hometown, Seola just didnt want to repeat her history with Yuji, of never having resolved the conflicts. In fact she did mention it with Norae.
And when Seola finally realized that her feelings for Norae was romantic, she decided to go to that high school friend's wedding, maybe was to face her past with Yuji, only to find out Yuji was dead and Seola couldnt have that proper closure. Poor Seola.

Yeah, that was my mistake. I re-read the whole series and I was the anon who made two wrong assumptions. These two things being that No-rae hasn't realized her feelings, and that Ji-Hwan wasn't truly interested. I had forgotten his entire confession, but No-Rae already turned him down and clearly loves Seol-a, so no chance no way.
There won't be any competition between Ji-Hwan and Seol-a, since No-Rae already rejected him. Though I do believe Ji-Hwan will be the first person that will know about No-Rae's feelings for Seol-a.

In my opinion, he knew for Seo-la it doesn't matter be it a guy or a girl.

I don't know why some making a fuss about Ji-hwan love for No-rae, it's very clear that he's been rejected already and he's graduating soon which means they won't really be able to hang out as much. In my opinion, he's good guy and he deserves to keep at least that much of friendship even after that rejection. Don't forget that that our MCs feelings for each other are already mutual, just no confession yet. He definitely felt something about Seo-la's affection for No-rae and knowing the fact that he likes No-rae, I think he's more afraid No-rae will get hurt because he know Seo-la too well already.
What I'm afraid is how the story might end. I definitely do not want the author to end the story after few chapters of them getting together. That's going to hurt more than all the flashbacks and the guys they been with.

I don't get the Ji-Hwan hate right now. Yes, he's a smug little ass that loves to grind Seol-a's gears but at least he has the decency to step back when he's been rejected. This chapter has given me a better perspective on him, he's 100% caught onto No-rae and Seol-a's feelings for each other and now he's actually giving Seol-a the push! Like, what a champ!
And, I love the imagery he created for the story, with No-rae being the elusive butterfly and how Ji-hwan realises that if he had caught her, her existence would be "pointless and sad" so better off letting her fly free and settling on a flower (Seol-a!) so at least both of them will be happy.

I agree. Most of /u/ probably hates him because he's a straight man that (in their eyes) exists to come between Norae's and Seola's relationship, but I think there's a lot more than that. His presence just kind of regulates the atmosphere of the entire story. Without him I'm pretty sure FF would seem like just another manhwa where A and B fall in love and the plot ends there.
Jihwan isn't just some guy to hold our two protagonists back from being together. He's a legitimate character in the story. Even more-so in my eyes after this chapter when he cheered Seola on.

During the flashback in his internal monologue the bit where he says "I've already let you go several times", he thinks about No-rae and her ex and No-rae with Seol-a.
