For a few months leading up to the game's release, people were "leaking" details. Some were just small, shitty leaks that most people already knew but others were fake yet seemed convincing.
One of these fake leaks was that Miller would become a far-right racist after the destruction of Outer Heaven (his and Snake's old base).
