Well david lynch is literally the most pleb "i appreciate true kino" director around. Twin Peaks wasnt much.

God awful as a Prisoner remake. Nothing alike in themes, style, or a bulk of the plotlines. Really just took a couple of the concepts and threw some of the names on.
If you take it as a completely separate thing though, it's alright. Not really good or anything, but okay. I'd imagine more people wouldn't have been as angry or would've even been more open to liking it if they just released it as its own thing without trying to use a pre-established series.
