Is this worth watching? I love dystopia films so I will be mad af if I watch any that suck. At the same time, I don't feel like watching really old films when these were popular.
Plz /tv/ can we talk about television and film once?
one more time
no one watched this? shit
It's shit, move along.

i've seen it 3 times and own it on blu ray. one of my favorite sci-fi
It's worth watching at least once for Kruger, otherwise the movie is about as subtle as a brick to the head
I saw it earlier this week. It was OK, nothing overly special.

Eh, kind of mediocre.
You want sci-fi for the spectacle, be my guest, but otherwise you're not losing anything by missing it.
It's pretty much an allegory for Occupy Wallstreet, and it's kinda painful how unsubtle it is. But holy fuck the effects are fantastic, and if you just take it at face value (a fun, kinda gritty sci fi movie), it's fantastic. The contrarian shitlords on here will say it's crap, but by the time he picks up the rail gun near the end and starts literally shooting guys to pieces, you won't give a fuck what the fedoras on here think.

Same. I love District 9 and I liked Elysium. I don't mind the political statements, it all has a grain of truth to it, the only difference is I don't think the real world would ever get to that stage of inequality. That's because all new technology eventually becomes dirt cheap.

And yet somehow filmmakers have gotten even less subtle with their commentary it seems. Like the fucking Purge. Anyway thats another ordeal. Is Chappie worth a watch?
