>writer gets the blame

When has this happened exactly?
>>
because bad writing can tank a project but good writing still needs to be executed and turned into a good film by literally everyone else, and the director is (usually) the one in charge and driving the project

no, its not fair, but the director still gets blamed too and gets hit a lot harder if the film is faulty in a lot of the other area

Because the writer is responsible for the whims of the studio who often have no collective fuck idea of what they're doing.

And the director's job is to ensure the cohesive vision of the movie comes out it's best.

You shouldn't blame the writer for the script, because the script goes through metamorphosis before the production script is ready.

And you should blame the director if it's bad, because he's responsible for the film and get's a say on the script.

Cant believe this series just ended like that. Fucking whyyy
>>
Acting, directing, and cinematography are all a meme. Writing is 90 % of the quality
>>
most people don't understand that screen credits are decided by unions and not by what people actually contributed, Hitchcock only "wrote" one movie in his whole career but you'd be very naive to think he wasn't involved in the writing of every movie he ever made.
>>
A film isn't a script, it's a film. That's why blame and praise should always be directed at the director.

>blame and praise should always be directed at the director.

That never happens though. Directors only get blame when they have a history of making shit films or studio leaks details about them.

If you're a philistine normie, maybe. The truth is, writing is a buzzword and doesn't has no merit-criteria.
