I wish I could get verification that Grim's accent was a reference to Meet Joe Black but I can find no source whatsoever. It literally has to be a reference to this. It's too obtuse not to be.

Ahh, overrated. A few episodes were really great, but all in all Jack was a pretty shallow character. As often as not he just came across as this raging, pseudo-humble asshole. It just feeds little autists' egos.

I have to agree with this. I took a long break from watching cartoons since CalArts sameface shit started flooding CN. A friend recommended this and I ended up marathoning it in a couple days. There's just this charm about it that makes it so much better than the other garbage getting churned out, maybe it's the lack of memes and actually interesting lore and overarching plot. Also it looks gorgeous
