It's got a bit more going on than you can get in just one screening.There's about 8 different characters and place names which contain some variant of "El", "ell", etc. Anton is a notable exception to this.The numbers 12-15 are important. Some of this is just the Coens having fun, but the numbers used conspicuously throughout the story as a kind of framing device. It's a step up from "mere numerology", rising to the level of a theme, in the film.

He made the mistake of following his own rules too strictly, and not deviating when he should have. Had he not bothered with Llewelyn's wife, she would not have seen his face, forcing him to kill her, and get into a car accident.
