Unironically, it was a mistake. The only movie after Iron Man that I genuinely liked was Winter Soldier. I was utterly disappointed by all this futuristic mumbo-jumbo in sequels (but I liked Rockwell's villain from IM2).

Contrary to popular belief, Ben Affleck basically started the whole MCU thanks to his shitty Daredevil movie that pushed the marvel exec to scrap the whole cheesy 1999-2004 superhero flicks and do capeshit with ironman

What about the fact that the first Iron Man was basicially a high school film with a much, much bigger budget.

They were making shit up on the spot and barerly had anything resembling a script

I think this is why Downey wanted a bigger paycheck for part two, since he pretty much wrote all his dialogues and one liners by himself.

He also did Jungle Book. He's done good things for Disney.
