It's unclear. I always assumed that she was white with a heavy tan, Midlanders freaked out when they saw the Kushan in the neo-Band of the Hawk and yet nobody ever said anything about Casca, so I don't think she's Kushan. Her skin color also constantly varies, sometimes it's very dark, and sometimes it's pretty light. If it was a tan it could also refelct her working on a farm before she joined The Band of the Hawk and would show that she's a hard worker. In casting someone to play her, I think it would be best to cast someone who has Caucasian features, but still has dark skin.

The problem with a Berserk adaptation is that it's too high budget for a TV series (even in Japan now apparently) and too big for a movie, unless if Hollywood actually wants to do the Harry Potter route and does more than a quad/trilogy.

If Madhouse did an adaptation it would probably be more faithful but still uninspired, just look at Parasyte or HxH for example. OPM was good because so many talented freelance animators worked on it.
