I just saw it. It's not as bad as I feared, but not great. The crowd seemed to like it quite a bit, so it will probably get good word of mouth started.

2. The dance scene starts in the movie, but doesn't take place. They disco pose and then the dancing is used over the end credits.
3. The end battle is an action scene in 1970s Times Square. They fight ghosts from all time periods with various new weapons McKinnon's character invents.

I was fine with the bright blues and greens used, but the fight scene at the end was a bit much. Ghostbusters was never an action movie, but I guess people expect a big action scene at the end of a movie now.

Why would you honestly cry about being progressive then turn the black character into a sassy black urban woman? She was pretty much the only reason the scenes (minus a couple that went face first but not that many) that made me personally want to vomit happened, but as i realised they're the scenes that made the other idiots in the crowd laugh and cheer.
You've already seen most of them, they're the two in the trailers.
Her at the concert crying about how it was a race or a sex thing and her slapping the ghost out of the fat one crying about the lord.
They didnt have to exist, it would have been better if they didnt.
None of the characters are even close to their OG Counterpart, but if there was a legitimate Winston counterpart instead of that cunt, the movie would have been three points up.
Speaking of which, she was the only reason i'd say the chemistry of the team just flat out didnt work. The banter between Erin/Abby/Jillian 80% of the time worked and worked well, besides the scene from the trailer with the Wig/Hat.

I enjoyed McKinnon honestly.
Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig were just there to move the plot along, but McKinnon was the fill for the Smart Joker aka Bill Murray and the Flat Enginner aka Ramis and i thought she blended it well.
There are two scenes i didnt enjoy with her in them, being the Wig/Hat at the concert and their first scene in the new office which was her just dancing behind her desk. Honestly, they just weren't needed.
I think it needed to be a comedy from the start. They knew they werent going to touch the original, it blended comedy and a sort of redemption story, but they never really touched that, at least they tried with the whole "We're gonna need to call you fakes to cover our ass" part and somehow them taking it saying "We dont need the publics approval" was redeeming?

Yeah, that was lacking. I guess keeping it in Times Square only kept up the keeping it secret and disavowing plot point, but that's one of the best parts of the original. It really feels like the end of the world with all of the people praying and religious leaders present at the building.

Just got back from seeing it. Now I did think the movie was shitty overall, HOWEVER, there were a couple of good things about the movie. Since basically every post in this thread is about how terrible it is, let me say the few things I did actually like about it.

Although the shot itself was well executed, the rape scene felt completely out of place. The ambient music used during the scene was top notch also. Chris Hemsworth seemed way into it which added an extra layer of realism.

Theres a graffiti artist that Patty knows that they ask if they've seen the ghost, then theres a whole scene of him painting a description of it on the wall, and it ends up being the old Ghostbusters logo. Then McKinnon takes a photo of it and they do the other shit.
At the very end Rowan after hopping out ofChris Hemsworthdecides to unleash his power and asks for a form, then patty says something like "Yeah if im gonna be fighting your ass you gotta be something small and cute" then he transforms into the 2D logo then grows.
