Tina is one of the most loved and recognizable women in the industry and created / produce / wrote / starred in one of the most successful shows of our era. Amy is also the creator of a massively successful show and essentially controls the American improv industry making her the gatekeeper that brings young comedians into the industry. Both have a close personal and professional close relationship with Lorne Michaels (the man that controls NBC post-8 PM) and could call him any day anytime and get a project developed.
They're both bigger than the original Ghostbuster stars were at the time of that movie and making a remake would be nothing but a step down for them.
