I don't hate his interviewers too much, he can be good at getting a conversation going and staying out of the way for the most part. Plus his voice is less grating than a lot of the other podcasters I've listened too. Just whenever he starts to talk politics I tune out until he's done.

You know in-depth knowledge of the craft and history of comedy gained from a lifetime of experience. Interview comedians like you're peers. You have a casual hobby knowledge of music and film. Don't interview musicians and filmmakers like you're peers.

here's what i've taken away from marc maron podcasts...he's a tryhard, hipster grandpa. it's incredibly telling when he's surprised that artists in their respective professions are into other artists who aren't considered to be "cool" by snobs. he's annoying, but he has some good guests on.
