it has nothing to do with the movies but it borrows themes. It's like a mystery horror teen tv drama.
I really like Brooke and Jake characters. The actors portraying them are doing a great job and they could easily have starred in the movies. The rest of the cast is okay. Emma is best girl.

S2 is so far better than S1, but overall the story is mtv meh teir. Not bad but nothing noteworthy
the actors are hit and miss, none of them or the story has the self aware humor that the movies had. Theyre cliche but not in a good way

I completely agree. They dragged one murder out for about 4 or 5 episodes and keep playing out the same plot points from episode one. Quite disappointed with this season especially considering there was supposedly a "higher body count than the first season."

Its not going to Emma, as then they would need a new main character. Also making the protagonist the new killer is always stupid (see Friday the 13th and Halloween franchises, where this is dropped by the next movie).
It also won't be any of the main characters from the first season - especially Brooke, Audrey, or Noah. It likely isn't Kieran either.
It will be one or more of the new characters.

in this universe its a surgical mask or something, not just a random halloween store mask. Basically they didn't want to pay to use the official mask and so created one only vaguely similar.
