I can explain a lack of chemistry easily.
In the second trailer for GB2k16, you see the ghostbusters all suited up and ready to go. You expect one of them to say something nonchalant like "Whelp, we're here, I guess" to break the tension.
Instead, two of the characters talk over each other in a way that breaks suspension of disbelief.
They do not roll off of each other. There is no chemistry.
The silent elevator scene where everyone reacts to the proton pack being turned on for the first time. "Yeah, we can do more damage that way", and "Are you the keymaster?" are all moments that rely both on good acting AND chemistry.

What ghostbusters tried to do, was reverse the trope you just described that used to be commonplace in films. They figured by doing this, they would be making a really brave feminist statement about gender roles
However, as is evident by how unlikely and 'triggering' your proposed concept is, what you described hasn't been commonplace in films since like the 80s.
So Ghostbusters' attempt to make a social statement is incredibly dated before it's even released
